Martha’s Place Catering Services is a couple-owned company. It was started by husband and wife, Jun and Editha Hernandez. Editha was the designated cook of her family; she learned to cook at a very young age. When they get married, the couple frequent parties where they would bring homecooked meals with them. Unsurprisingly, the hosts and other guests would give them the nicest feedback and praises. Editha took cooking lessons from the culinary experts before starting the catering business in 1999. Word of mouth is their primary marketing tool—satisfied clients would bring more prospects. Today, Martha’s Plate Catering Services has its list of valued patrons, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Education Central, Ateneo de Manila University, and University of the Philippines, among others. In 2014, the catering business became a corporation that caters to both social and corporate events.
